Trip cancellation and trip interruption insurance
With this insurance, you get reimbursed for expenses before or during the trip. It can be used in the event of an illness or death of one of the travellers or a close relative requiring your presence, but also in the event of an event making it impossible for you to leave (dismissal of an insured person, burglary at your home, crisis event in your country of destination, etc.).
Depending on expenses paid ahead of your trip, you can choose between 3 packages with different compensation limits per claim:

Concretely, what does this mean?
For instance, if you get injured and are not able to leave, we will refund all your non-recoverable expenses ahead of your trip (flights, hotels, tours, etc.) up to the compensation limit you chose for each of the insured persons. An excess of 50€ is applied per incident and per insured person.
This insurance enables you to claim compensation in the event of a serious accident leading to the disability or death of one of the insured persons. The maximum amounts of compensation per insured person in case of accident are:

This insurance enables you to receive assistance and compensation if your belongings are delayed, stolen, lost or damaged. The maximum amounts of compensation per insured person in case of incident are:

This insurance covers you for your travels all over the world, including during your stays in Belgium, provided that at least one night is booked in advance.
Exclusion: travel to countries that the Belgian government advises you to avoid are not covered, consult the latest government advice for your destination before going on holiday.

Any incapacity, physical condition or illness that occurred before the start date of your insurance or before you signed the contract, until a period of one year has passed without your receiving treatment.
Any health condition for which you have already claimed compensation or requested an intervention during a previous trip.
Any circumstance which could reasonably be expected to lead to a claim at the start date of your coverage or when booking your trip (whichever was the latter of the two).
Pregnancy, birth or any subsequent medical complications if you are or will be seven or more months pregnant at any point during a trip.
Deliberate exposure to a major risk (unless in an attempt to save a life).
Sports or leisure activities with significant risks of physical injury, such as jet skiing, bungee jumping, quad biking, mountain climbing, etc.
Travel to countries against the advice of the Belgian government.
Legal expenses relating to proceedings against travel agents or family members.
This insurance policy does not cover any claim, fear or threat in any way caused by or resulting from coronavirus disease (COVID-19), nor from severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), nor any other mutation or variation of SARS-CoV-2 disease.

You have not yet started your trip.
The length of your trip does not exceed the period you specified in the contract.
High-risk activities are not covered (e.g. jet skiing, diving, etc.).
You do not already have a reason to make a claim.
Travels in Belgium are covered provided you have booked accommodation for at least one night before beginning your trip.
You have never been refused kidnapping insurance in the past (to be eligible for coverage for intervention in case of a crisis event).
Persons over 76 years old cannot be insured.

You can take out your annual insurance policy today and specify a start date up to 3 months later. This means your coverage can begin on the day after your current contract expires.

In all cases, don't forget to notify your insurer that you wish to cancel your policy at least 3 months before the renewal date of your contract.
If you have an annual contract, you can cancel your policy by registered letter or registered email at least 3 months before the contract renewal date.
If you have an annual contract or a temporary contract of a duration of more than one month, you can cancel your policy within 14 days of purchase by sending us the withdrawal form received at the time of your order.
Please note: if you have purchased a single trip contract of a duration of one month or less, it cannot be cancelled.
